At Mental Health Awareness & Beyond (MHAAB), our community outreach programs are designed to bring mental health services directly to the people who need them most. We recognize that many individuals lack access to mental health care due to stigma, financial constraints, or lack of awareness, so we take our services into communities to educate, support, and empower those facing mental health challenges.
What We Do During Community Outreaches
πΉ Mental Health Awareness & Education
We educate communities about mental health, its importance, and how to recognize signs of mental distress. Through workshops, public talks, and interactive sessions, we help break the stigma surrounding mental illness and encourage open discussions about mental well-being.
πΉ Free Counseling & Therapy Sessions
Our trained counselors and psychologists offer on-site counseling sessions for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and other mental health conditions. We create a safe and supportive environment for people to share their struggles and receive professional guidance.
πΉ Support for Vulnerable Groups
We focus on providing tailored mental health support for:
β Persons with disabilities β Offering counseling, therapy, and assistive mental health services.
β Drug addicts β Providing intervention programs and connecting them to rehabilitation centers.
β Abandoned & neglected children β Helping them heal from trauma through therapy and mentorship.
β Survivors of violence β Supporting victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and gender-based violence with counseling and referral services.
β Refugees & asylum seekers β Assisting displaced individuals in dealing with trauma and mental distress.
πΉ Psychosocial Support & Group Therapy
We organize peer support groups where individuals can share their experiences and find encouragement, hope, and healing. These support groups help people realize they are not alone and provide a strong sense of community.
πΉ Helpline & Crisis Intervention Awareness
During our outreaches, we promote our mental health helpline, ensuring that individuals in crisis know where to seek help. We provide emergency mental health first aid for those in immediate distress and connect them to professional services.
πΉ Skills Development & Empowerment
We believe mental well-being is linked to economic stability and self-sufficiency. Our outreach programs often include life skills training, vocational training, and financial literacy workshops to empower individuals, especially young people, to build sustainable livelihoods.
πΉ School & Youth Engagement Programs
We work with schools and local youth groups to educate children and teenagers on mental health, emotional resilience, and coping mechanisms. We also provide training for teachers and parents on how to support young peopleβs mental well-being.
